We make it a top priority to value both you and your time, and due to the COVID-19 situation, we are developing a priority system of 'needs to be seen' versus a visit that could be accomplished by a 'virtual appointment' with Dr. Blake using our new app on our website that will meet the needs of those patients in active treatment, as well as patients interested in starting new treartments! We will identify patients that will qualify for this service and will let you know if this is a good option for you.
If your appointment is in the office, we make every effort to stay on or ahead of schedule. Most adults work and all children attend school. Inconveniencing your work schedule and/or interrupting your child’s studies as infrequently as possible is very important to our entire office.
If the patient is of school age, it is unavoidable that some school-time appointments will be necessary. We will be glad to work around certain classes that are very important or ones in which your child may be having problems. We provide your child with school excuses for scheduled orthodontic appointments and it is important for your child to turn these in to the proper school official.
We want you to know that our staff will work hard to provide the finest orthodontic care in the most convenient scheduling system possible for you and/or your child. We, too, have families and careers and understand your scheduling concerns. We will do everything we can to ensure that treatment goes as smoothly as possible for everyone involved.
Please allow the following time for each appointment type:
- Initial Examination – 1 hour
- Records, if not part of the Initial Examination – 30 minutes
- Consultation, if not part of the Initial Examination – 30 minutes
- Initial Bonding – 1 to 2 hours
- Adjustment Appointments – 15 to 30 minutes
We will try our best to see you, if you arrive late. However, out of respect for other patients, we will have to see them at their scheduled times, as well.
While we don’t charge for missed appointments, we do ask that you notify us 24 hours in advance if you cannot keep an appointment, so we may make the appointment available to other patients.
In the rare instance that you should need to cancel or change an appointment, please call our office immediately.
Frequently cancelled or missed appointments can extend treatment time. Cancel only if it is an emergency as it can be difficult to reschedule your appointment soon thereafter, since most appointments are made 6 to 8 weeks in advance.
